STEM Racing
Formerly known as F1 in Schools, STEM Racing is one of Velora's strongest and most visible STEM opportunities. STEM Racing challenges students to design, manufacture and race miniature Formula 1-style cars using CAD and advanced manufacturing technologies, while also developing and demonstrating teamwork, project management and communication. Velora teams have competed at state, national and international levels, and the program remains a cornerstone of the Velora STEM Academy.

Velora's STEM Academy complements the curriculum by giving students opportunities to apply learning in real contexts and build confidence in STEM over time, and students may also access STEM-related work experience opportunities.
Community-building and student recognition are facilitated via the STEM Academy Celebration Evening, which celebrates achievements and recognising STEM participation and performance.
Students are able to apply for national and international STEM learning opportunities, including those in far-north Queensland, Adelaide, Japan and Europe.
